My office has been contacted by several constituents expressing concern over the hiring of the new Humble ISD Superintendent Elizabeth Fagen.
I have not had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Fagen, but I’m sure that situation will be remedied soon.
Anyone who has concerns about Dr. Fagen should direct those concerns to the publicly elected members of the Humble ISD Board of Trustees.
I share with the constituents who contacted my office a passion for public education and a desire to see the best for the children in our classrooms.
Having served as an elected member of the Humble ISD Board of Trustees, and as Board President, I can assure you that they are attentive to public concerns and willing to work with parents, teachers, and all community stakeholders to explain their actions and their plans going forward.
My role as State Representative is to primarily focus my attention on education policy, and try to avoid involving myself in personnel decisions for local school districts. Each district has a locally elected school board to make those decisions.
